Our power

We are created in the image of God, we are his chosen people, and he bestowed upon us dominion over this Earth and power over the enemy.

A lot of people find themselves living in fear of the devil and his demons. Does the enemy have power, absolutely; the Devil was an angel. But is his power greater than that of God? Absolutely NOT. Fear is not of the Lord (2 Timothy 1:7) but a tactic of the enemy, who uses our ignorance of the Word of God, which is our sword in battle (Ephesians 6:17), to his advantage. If you knew the power you possessed, you would not fear the enemy.

Satan is a legalist; he needs permission to harm you, whether that is from you or God himself. He cannot just do whatever he wants, to those who belong to God. This is why it is imperative that we follow the Word of God and his commands, because living in obedience will prevent us from giving unwitting access to the enemy (Ephesians 4:27).

God gave us power to trample over snakes and scorpions; He gave us power over the enemy. (Luke 10:19) If you have been saved, if you have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you have the Holy Spirit within you, you have the power of God within you (Ephesians 1:13). Ask yourself, what is greater, the created or the creator? Who shall win that battle? Hint, Christ already won on Calvary.

Resist the Devil, and he shall flee from you (James 4:7). Jesus showed us this firsthand in the wilderness. He was tempted by the devil, but because Jesus knew who he was, and whose he was, he was not shaken (Matthew 4:1-11).

You are a child of the Most High, favored and protected. You are so precious that Jesus allowed himself to be tortured and crucified so that you may have a relationship with God, forgiveness, and everlasting life with the Father…if you choose.

Get in your Word, learn who you are, and whose you are, and use your God-given power to step out of fear and into purpose. You don’t need an intermediary, you can go to God directly, you can command the enemy directly. You have power, if you choose to step into it with faith.
